General Profile
Skin: Large fruit with yellow to greenish-yellow skin.
Flesh: Amber, light pink, or even honey-colored interior.
Flavor: Very sweet, honey-like, less berry-forward than dark figs (closer in taste to Italian Honey or Kadota figs).
Size: Often much larger than Celeste or Brown Turkey figs, which makes them especially prized.
Growth Habits
Tree Size: Can grow 10–15 feet, but many Long Island gardeners keep them pruned smaller or in pots.
Hardiness: Typically hardy to Zone 7, sometimes surviving in Zone 6 with aggressive winter protection (wrapping, mulching, or burying).
Production: Usually one heavy main crop in late summer to early fall; short growing seasons mean they may not ripen fully every year if summers are cool.
Pollination: Self-pollinating (common fig type).
